Questions about migrating
Will we lose our existing members or their history?
No. Member accounts, activity, groups and media are migrated, not recreated. We verify counts against the source platform before calling it done.
Can members keep using the community during the migration?
Yes. We build and test on a staging copy, then run a delta sync that catches anything posted after the initial migration, right up to cutover.
Do we have to choose BuddyNext?
No. BuddyPress with BuddyX or Reign is fully supported and a fine choice. We recommend BuddyNext for new builds because it is built for communities specifically, but the decision is yours.
What about a platform not listed here?
Tell us what you are moving from. If it has an export or an API, moving it is usually possible.
